Encapsulation ...

is a process of  packing warmed, dried and ground placenta into capsules for storage in either cobalt blue or amber glass containers . Dosage postpartum is 1-2 capsules up to 3x per day for two weeks followed by a tapering dose listening to the needs of your body until capsules are gone.

Quantities can be 90-140+ depending on the placenta size.  Encapsulation should be done for each individual birth for the immediate warming medicinal support.

Healing powers and medicinal attributes for mom and baby:
  • The placenta was and is a place of nourishment for life and energy rich in iron and nutrients
  • Contains properties for renewal ("Tree of Life" metaphor) ("QI" life force) speeding up recovery
  • Science  has  discovered  hormones  that  inhibit stress and  release endorphins to help prevent depression  in  the  mom,  and  for baby addresses colic related to becoming used to intestinal sensations (stress + fear = cramping)
  • A high level of oxytocin ('Love Hormone") in the placenta helps with bonding
  • Enhances milk supply and helps with let-down-reflex to reduce sore nipples
What type of supplies are used and how are they sterilized:

I have a dedicated space for handling placentas and only work with one placenta at a time. Along with being OSHA and Food Handlers Certified I have a profound respect for the significance of what I am "cooking". Supplies used during placenta encapsulation and tincture making are all stainless steel, glass, food grade plastic or disposable. Everything is thoroughly washed with soap and water, and sanitized in a bleach solution. I follow the same guides for cleanliness and sanitation that are used in food service establishments and small laboratories.
